HOME TRENDS- 2014

Nothing is constant except change. We have moved a lot since the retro. Though it has not been sudden, it still has managed to be phenomenal. We make a lot of effort to keep up our appearance. Similarly, it is only fair that we keep up the appearance of our homes as well. Home Décor is something which moves at a small pace. Home Trends develop over the years.

So what is going to be ‘in’ in 2014 when it comes to Home Decor?

Concept Kitchens:
The concept of concept kitchen has grown manifold over the past 25 years. Once upon a time, kitchens lay in some corner of the house. But now, there are kitchens which open up to the living space. With the help of concept kitchen most of the obvious parts of the kitchen will go into hiding. Even after being there, they won’t be there.

Energy Efficient Devices:
Energy preserved is energy produced. With so much of awareness spreading around the globe regarding energy conservation and global warming, it is nothing but natural that people will turn to greener alternatives. Energy saving devices like motion sensors to control electrical appliances and touch less faucets. High-efficiency shower heads and dishwashers are also going to make a mark.

Antique:
Old is gold. This season, it actually is true; the older your furniture, the better it is. Antique furniture is not only good looking, but is also of a superior quality as compared to its modern counterparts. But instead of only having antique furniture, try to develop a nice combination of modern day furniture and the antique furniture. You would be able to give an interesting look to your home’s furniture by such a method.

Colours:
Bright colours are going to replace the now popular mellow colour scheme. Bright colours bring more life and warmth to the walls and furniture.

Metals:
Metal based artefacts and furniture are going to be as popular as antiques. Brass, Gold and silver are probably going to be everywhere. While Brass artefacts will go along antique furniture, a fine combination of gold and silver will work wonders against bright colors to give that special touch to your Home’s Décor.
